The Garnet Valley Performing Arts Association's production of Brigadoon is more than just a show—it is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and excellence of our students and production team. GVPAA has been recognized with 15 nominations at the 2025 Philadelphia Independence Awards including, for the first time in this new category, a nominee for the National Jimmy Awards, the highest honor in high school musical theatre.

The production of Brigadoon was a demanding and rarely performed Golden Age classic and it stood out among top-tier schools from Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Philadelphia, and Delaware Counties.

Please join us in congratulating the following student nominees:

We also want to celebrate the leadership that brought this production to life:

  • Katie Izykowski and Aubrey Schneider, our Drama Club Presidents, who helmed Brigadoon with professionalism and heart.

  • Carli Fruchtl, whose contributions to choreography, scheduling, and blocking were recognized with a Creative Leadership nomination.

  • Mrs. Thomas and the entire music department whose musical direction, music lessons, pit playing,  and vocal and pit coaching elevated the entire cast.

  • Our incredible crew and marketing teams, whose backstage and behind the scenes work played a vital role in this success.

We are so proud of the GVPAA students and grateful to the entire production staff, dedicated faculty members, parent volunteers, paraprofessionals, nursing staff, fall, winter and spring coaches, tech staff, our office secretaries, our great student body, school board members, and awesome building administration who supported them along the way. This recognition belongs to our entire Garnet Valley community.

Congrats to all!
