Garnet Valley’s Boys' Ice Hockey team is headed to the State Championship this weekend to compete for the State title after a successful season that has taken them this far.

So far this season, the Ice Jags have consistently worked hard to earn their spot in the State Championship game. Their dedication is evident in the team's success this season.

Back in February of this year, the Ice Jags took the Central League Championship title after beating Haverford 10-0, striking back at the Fords after losing to them 0-1 in the regular season. This kept the team in positive spirits as they headed into the Flyers Cup Bracket ranked first.

The Ice Jags played Plymouth Whitemarsh (8th seed) in the Quarterfinals of the tournament, beating them easily with a final score of 10-0. The Semifinals brought a more intense matchup as the Jaguars had to play the 4th-seeded team in the bracket, West Chester East. A much closer game kept fans on their toes, but ultimately the Ice Jags again pulled out a win, winning the game 2-1 and placing them into the Flyers Cup Championship Game.

At the Championship game, the Jaguars played West Chester Henderson, the team ranked right below them in the bracket (the 2nd seed). The Jags stuck together and played hard, their dedication proving successful when they took home the win easily, beating Henderson 10-2 and winning the Flyers Cup.

This major win pushed the team to their toughest game so far, the PA State Championship game. It will take place tomorrow, March 22, at Robert Morris University in Pittsburg, PA where the Ice Jags will play Avonworth.

You can tune into the live game tomorrow at 12:45 pm by clicking this link! Congratulations to the Ice Jags on quite the amazing season so far this year, and best of luck in the State Championship!
