April 3, 2025 Garnet Valley’s student talent took center stage this week at Garnet Valley’s Got Talent, a spirited and heartfelt evening of performances that brought the community together in support of the arts. The show successfully raised $400 for the Independence Awards’ Give a Musical Foundation, which provides funding to help young performers at schools in our area pursue their passion for music and theatre.
The event was proudly organized by Katie Izykowski and Aubrey Schneider, whose leadership and enthusiasm made the night a memorable success.
A wide variety of talented acts graced the stage, including powerhouse vocals, original compositions, and dynamic dance routines:
Lauren Cusick – I Dreamed a Dream (vocal)
Evan Siter – Billie Jean (dance)
Ethan Spector – Stars (vocal)
Skylar Zoba – Castle on a Cloud (vocal)
Aaron Knight – Original piece (piano)
Vainavi Rokkam – I Have Nothing (vocal)
Emily Dahdaly – Paciencia y Fe (vocal)
Jheel Patel – Original song (vocal and guitar)
Sebastian Nguyen – Run Away With Me (vocal)
Nova Figurelle – Dust and Ashes (vocal)
Aubrey Schneider – “Beach song” (vocal – last-minute entry)
Our sincere thanks go to the panel of judges who generously offered their time and expertise: Ms. Meghan Arters, Mr. Keith Layman, Mrs. Ricevuto, and Lili Giribaldi.
The night ended on a high note with the announcement of our winners: First Place – Aaron Knight, for his original piano composition Second Place – Lauren Cusick, for her emotional performance of I Dreamed a DreamThird Place – Evan Siter, for his high-energy dance to Billie Jean
Special recognition goes to Skylar Zoba and Ethan Spector for their moving Les Misérables songs. A round of applause to Nova Figurelle, who handled a technical malfunction with professionalism and poise, and to Aubrey Schneider, who bravely switched songs at the last minute when her talented partner, Virginia Hayes got stuck at a track meet. We were also excited to welcome Jheel Patel to the Garnet Valley stage as her original song and musicality made a strong impression, and we hope to see her perform again soon.
We were especially moved by Senior Vainavi Rokkam’s standout vocal performance and are proud to recognize the incredible work of Drama Club members Nova Figurelle, Emily Dahdaly, and Sebastian Nguyen, who continue to share their passion and talent with our school community.
It was a night filled with heart, music, and inspiration, proof that Garnet Valley’s got talent, and a whole lot of it.
