Our GVHS Science Olympiad team is reaching new heights! Besides because the 4th best team in the state and 90th best team in the nation (out of 1,841), our team did a phenomenal job at the Princeton competition just last Saturday (February 1st, 2025)! We placed 9th out of 48 teams total which couldn't have been possible without the dedication of our members and of course our medalists.

Helicopter (1st) - Rohit Rajagopalan

Chemistry Lab (1st) and Materials Science (6th) - Cooper Giles and Aditya Parab

Electric Vehicle (3rd), Air Trajectory (3rd), Robot Tour (2nd) - Ekansh Agrawal and Ved Maru

It's an honor to lead this passionate group of students as Vice President. I'm sure many others would agree that besides winning medals, it's even more rewarding to build connections and friendships along the way. Some of our members continue to stay connected with competitors from other schools! I would encourage anyone to join this club, whether you want to challenge yourself or try something new.

With members make last minute adjustments to their binders at 12pm and then waking up at 5am, sleep deprivation certainly makes things more funny the next morning! Just to give you a taste of the excitement, here are some notable highlights: morning muffins, drawing the Fibonacci sequence on the college classroom chalkboards, rolling around in chairs, Princeton campus tour, boba tea, bent spoon ice cream and milkshakes, running late to your event, going to the wrong building for your event, 20,000+ steps, frigid weather, and karaoke bus rides. While preparing and studying for our events is crucial, it's important to always remember to have fun! Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Politano, the chaperones, and all the members for their hard work.

That's a wrap for Princeton! Next up... SOUP (Science Olympiad UPenn) on February 15th.
