About every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. is in need of blood and a single blood donation can save up to 3 lives. Click here to listen to some of those stories, highlighting the positive and heart-warming impact a blood donor can have on patients.
You have the opportunity to make a difference as well! Our GVHS Student Council is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, February 20th from 8:00am - 12:45pm in the gym. SIGN-UP NOW: https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=gvhs
While donating blood may be daunting, our students and staff will be by your side with snacks and drinks. All blood donors will also receive a $15 E-Gift Card emailed to them afterward (use personal email). That's equivalent to 3+ mini crumbl cookies or a whole chipotle bowl if that's more your style!
If you are 16 years old, you will need a Parent Permission Waiver. Must be signed on and brought to the Blood Drive. Feel free to pick up a copy from Mrs. Kamann's room, B115. If you are 17 or 18, you DO NOT need this waiver.
StuCo wants to remind everyone to check that you meet ALL the requirements before signing up Including but not limited to:
Be at least 16 years old (16-year-olds need a signed parental consent form)
Weigh at least 110 lbs
Feel healthy on the day of donation (Get a good night’s sleep and eat a solid breakfast!)
Bring a valid photo ID or parental consent letter if under 16 (driver’s license or school ID)
You'll miss a part of class -- for a great cause! If you meet all the requirements, be sure to sign-up to make a real difference. ❤️
