Garnet Valley’s Women’s Basketball team has held an impressive winning streak this 2024-2025 regular season! 20-1 (14-1 in the central league) so far, the Lady Jags see their success carrying over into district and state playoffs.
The Jaguars started their season winning five straight games in a row, showing their strength early. The team’s four seniors, Sarah Sigston (#24), Savannah Saunders (captain #13), Haylie Adamski (captain #14), and Kylie Mulholland (captain #12) have helped lead the team, pushing the juniors and underclassmen to train and play their hardest.
On December 17th, 2024, the Jaguars played their first game against one of the toughest teams in the Central League, Haverford, unfortunately losing 47-28. The team refused to let this one loss set them back; they kept training hard and stayed determined.
The game after their loss, the Jags played Conestoga, another strong team in the Central League. The team knew this was going to be a hard game, but also a crucial win. Despite their tough loss the game before, they fought hard and beat Conestoga in a close game, 29-24. This win has continued to carry the Jaguars this season.
As the team transitioned into 2025, their winning streak remained strong and soon it was time to face off against Haverford again on January 30th, 2025. The Jaguars refused to let up, pushing the entire game to take the win they deserved, defeating Haverford 43-26.
The Jaguar's last regular season game is tomorrow, February 2nd, at Ridley against Ridley, where the Jaguars are bound to take another win as they previously beat Ridley 54-28 earlier this season.
Congratulations to the Women’s Basketball Team so far this season, and best of luck at tomorrow's game! Go Jags!!
