A wintry storm began on the night of Monday, January 15th. Due to the icy conditions, the school closed the following Tuesday and Wednesday. This was the first time in practically 2 years that a substantial amount of snow had fallen.
During this time, students chose to do a variety of things with this extended weekend. Some spent time studying for midterms (which were later canceled due to the semester ending), while others took the opportunity to go out and enjoy the snow. Sledding, snowball fights, and igloo building were just some of the winter activities that took place.
It later snowed even more on Friday, landing the district an FID day. Zoom gave many students a flashback when the pandemic hit. However, many people enjoyed being able to get some extra sleep and an easy workload for the day.
Nonetheless, last week had given students a much-needed break from academics, and an opportunity to enjoy a frosty day filled with fun.
