Happy World Down Syndrome Day! This annual event raises awareness and celebrates individuals with Down syndrome. The National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) collaborates with Down Syndrome International to promote inclusion and advocacy.

Ways to Get Involved

  • Start a Fundraiser: Help make a difference by creating a fundraiser for NDSS on Facebook. Encourage friends and family to contribute and support vital programs that benefit individuals with Down syndrome.

  • Use #WorldDownSyndromeDay: Social media is a powerful tool for spreading awareness! Share stories, facts, and experiences using the hashtag #WorldDownSyndromeDay. Don’t forget to tag NDSS on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

  • Explore WDSD Toolkits: NDSS offers specialized toolkits designed for educators, employers, healthcare workers, and community leaders. These resources guide how to support individuals with Down syndrome in various settings.

  • Join Racing for 3.21: Take part in this virtual challenge by running, walking, or engaging in any movement for 3.21 miles or minutes to honor WDSD. Schools, workplaces, and communities can join the challenge to show their support.

  • Send a WDSD E-Card: Celebrate the day by making a donation to NDSS and sending a special e-card in honor of someone you care about. Your contribution helps fund advocacy, education, and inclusion efforts.

Let’s celebrate diversity and advocate for inclusion here at GVHS!
