If you love country music, then you need to know about Maddox Batson! He’s only 15, but he’s already making a big name for himself in the music world.
Who is Maddox Batson?
Maddox Batson is a 15-year-old musician from Nashville, now living in Alabama. He started by covering songs from artists like Zach Bryan, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and Red Clay Strays. As his covers became popular, he decided to write his own songs to share his thoughts and dreams.
His Music Career
Maddox didn't just want to be a singer, he wanted to be a real musician. He saw his growing popularity as a chance to make music his career. With songs like:
"Tears In The River"
"I Wanna Know"
He proved he wasn’t just great at covering country songs but also writing his own. His music mixes the fun, feel-good energy of the country with his personal experiences as a teenager.
His Latest Song: "X’s"
Maddox's newest song, "X’s", talks about what most teenage boys think about, girls! He admits that since he's still young, he hasn’t been through all the tough times life will bring. Right now, his songs focus on love and relationships because that’s what’s on his mind.
How “X’s” Was Created
The idea for “X’s” came from a real experience. Maddox went to a concert where they marked his hand with an X since he’s under 21. The next day, his co-writers noticed it and saw a fun connection between the X’s on his hand and past relationships (“exes”). That’s how the song was born!
His Musical Style
“X’s” blends country with pop and even a little hip-hop, using banjo sounds and electronic beats. Maddox learned about mixing styles while co-writing "Tough" by Lana Del Rey & Quavo.
His Family’s Influence
Music has always been a big part of Maddox’s life:
His dad taught him to play instruments like the piano, guitar, and mandolin.
His mom introduced him to 90s country music and singing in church.
His older sister got him into pop artists like Justin Bieber and One Direction.
This mix of influences helped shape his unique sound.
Growing Up Fast
Maddox started making music with friends in Nashville and used music to connect with people when he moved to Alabama at seven years old. Now, with sold-out concerts and an appearance at Stagecoach Music Festival, his life is moving quickly.
Even though he's still a kid, he’s already handling a lot of responsibility. He says, “It can be overwhelming, but I have great people around me. I’m still just a kid, and I’m happy about that.”
What’s Next for Maddox?
Maddox is gearing up for more exciting moments in his career, including:
His new song "Girl In Green"
