Do you like art and writing? Well, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are for you! Founded in 1923, the Scholastic Awards are highly sought-after prestigious awards handed out to young 13-17-year-old students from Canada, America, and its territories. If you are afraid that there isn’t a category for you, don’t be! There are 28 categories to choose from, ranging from Drawing and Illustrating to Editorial Cartoons.

You might be wondering, how do you enter? It’s simple, first create your account, then upload your work, and lastly pay for your entry, which are $10 per individual entry and $30 per portfolio. It’s a bit pricy, but your pieces can be considered for many awards and scholarships.

How are the winners recognized? At first, your entries are considered for regional awards, where you can win a Gold Key, Silver Key, or an honorable mention. Gold keys are considered for national awards, including Gold Medals, Silver Medals, and scholarship awards! The scholarship awards include Portfolio Scholarships, Flaunt it Reward, The New York Life Awards, and much more! These scholarships can earn you an upward of $12,500 for your college funds.

The Scholastic Art Awards are open from now until December 1st, so anyone who likes art and writing should try it out! If you want to know more about this event, make sure to check out this link! https://www.artandwriting.org/
