Midterm week is quickly approaching! For most students at Garnet Valley High School and students across the country, this week is among the most stressful weeks of the year. So, we compiled a list of advice and tips to help minimize the stress during midterm week.
Study many days ahead of the tests.
Instead of studying the night before like many students do for tests and quizzes, study many days ahead of the test. This will help you feel prepared and help you keep up with studying because you may be busy with other school work.
Talk with your teachers.
Talking with your teachers can help you get some one-on-one time to work on topics that you may be struggling with and ask your questions. The perfect time to do this is during advisory and learn.
Get a good night's sleep!
While this advice has been given before and its cliché, it is very important to rest before your tests so you are not tired, especially because the tests are at the very end of the day when you are most tired and at the very beginning of the day when you are still waking up.
Drink lots of water and find time to exercise.
You must make a conscious effort to take care of your body during this week. Exercise can be a great way to help combat the stress during this week! Try to find time to take a walk outside, workout, or play a sport!
Eat a good breakfast!
This goes along with taking care of your body. It is very important to eat a healthy and balanced breakfast so that you can fuel your mind and body.
Create a study schedule
Having a schedule to follow and holding yourself accountable can help people stay on track and minimize their stress levels! You can also have a friend to study with so that you can push each other to do your guys’ best!
